When developing your social media marketing strategy there is one thing that will always remain consistent; you want to post valuable content. You will want to make impressions, have engagement, get retweets, shares, likes etc. If your social media isn’t generating these kinds of reactions then there is something missing. This could be what type of content you are posting.

1. Content with images
It has been proven time and time again that image-rich content will result in a lot more engagement and impressions than content without. They get on average 53% more likes, 104% more comments and 84 more click-throughs. Images are sharable and get your message across clearly. When scrolling through social media your followers are more likely to stop and read something that also has an attractive image rather than just plain text.
2. Infographics
People typically like something that is quick to read and engaging. This is why infographics do so well for content. Infographics use the appeal of visually pleasing content to trick your followers into reading something they wouldn’t otherwise. They will understand your message, advice or knowledge a lot easier when it is partnered alongside a pleasing image.
3. Comment on trending topics
If there is a news article, current event or anything popular that relates to your business, utilise it. These are things that potential customers will be looking into to relay it back to their own company, or purely out of curiosity. By sharing these onto your social media this will naturally gain traction to your page and offering your opinion alongside this could provoke a conversation with a potential client, which can allow you to showcase your knowledge and expertise which could result in a CTA (call-to-action).
4. Showcase your knowledge
As previously mentioned, displaying your expertise to your customers, present and future, can be a great way to draw in some new business. Your followers will want to know what you are capable of achieving for them. Good results from past customers is a great way to prove this, but another is to show your inside knowledge. Your followers will soon see that you know what you’re talking about and will be much more likely to enquire about your services.
5. Testimonials
Nothing speaks better for your business than those who have used you before. A potential customer is likely to be much more trusting of your previous clients than of yourself, as they have nothing to gain or lose from recommending you. They are mostly neutral. Prospects may think that what you are selling them is false or too good to be true if it’s coming from you but coming from a third party they are more likely to listen. Have past successes give you quotes that you can display on your website to prove your validity and share these on your social media to showcase what you can achieve. We share our testimonials to showcase the value of our expertise.
