Arguably motivation is the critical component in business success, and when combined with drive it turns dreams into reality.

So how does motivation impact on successful web design? How can motivation change the dynamic of your online presence and deliver better results?
There are two components to this: there is the motivation that you need to keep your website working for you and then there is the motivators that you put on your site to encourage users to do something.
Keeping your website working for you actually takes a great deal of motivation.
These days, original content is king and is a critical factor in keeping users engaged in your website. Producing such content – content like this for example – takes a lot of focus to set aside time to do the research and then write it up, especially in the face of seemingly small returns in the initial stages. It is of course relatively easy to copy & paste articles, but producing original thought i.e. relevant and valuable content is much more difficult. And anything that is difficult to do takes a lot of motivation in order to get it done!
Similarly, getting users motivated to actually do something when they come on your website is almost a science in itself. This is achieved primarily by what are known as “Calls To Action” on your site. You need to make it easy for people to translate what they have just seen/read/engaged with into a positive action to buy/contact you/download something. How these calls to action are structured and where they are placed takes careful thought and planning in order to deliver results.
In this series we will look at the components of achieving motivation through good web design, strong content production and affirmative digital marketing.
